Drew Luparello-Cibardo

Welcome! My name is Drew (they/them) and I am a trauma-informed creative and embodied psychotherapist. I offer a non-judgemental therapy space to explore your experiences, meeting you with compassion every step of the way.

My work takes an intersectional approach, meaning that I am interested in how the different parts of you and your identity connect to shape who you are and how you experience the world. I work with you to create a safe, confidential environment in each session, where your authentic self is championed.

Sessions are client-led, which means I may suggest a creative structure for us to try but will always follow your lead- you will never be pressured to do something that does not feel right. We will work together to see what helps you to understand yourself in the safest way possible, building upon a foundation of trust. Every therapy journey is different, and creative psychotherapy allows for flexibility to shape sessions unique to you.

Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy that recognises the importance of using creativity as a medium to explore challenging experiences. It incorporates verbal and visual imagery to express emotions, with the trauma-informed aim of providing a safe, contained space to process these feelings.

Working creatively allows us to bring playfulness into sessions and, alongside talking, we might incorporate the use of movement, small objects, image cards, art making, or stories to express and explore your world. I draw upon humanistic and relational approaches in my work, incorporating Jungian analysis, psychodynamic principles, and attachment theory.

I have worked extensively with both adults and children, in settings such as NHS, Health and Justice, Pupil Referral Units, and SEND schools. Alongside my therapy work, I run an LGBTQ+ peer network, seeking to support and advocate for queer therapists and clients, alongside influencing policies and amplifying trans+ voices.

Since qualifying with a Masters in Dramatherapy from the University of Roehampton, I have completed additional training in:

  • Imagery and CBT

  • Embodied Psychotherapy

  • Supporting Neurodiversity

  • Decolonising Psychology Practices

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity

I also hold professional indemnity insurance and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. I am GDPR-compliant and work in accordance with both HCPC and BADth ethical guidelines.

I hold and maintain an up-to-date, Enhanced DBS check.
